| | anxious | ] | I know I'm not very active about updating my blog, but the whole weekend week ago was so wierd, I decided to write a small story about it :D
On friday, there was Night of Arts in Helsinki. I had been looking the attractions guide on it's webiste, there was over 100 showcases around Helsinki... and I was excited about it, since this was my first time I was in Helsinki's Night of Arts, it's rather big event, maybe even bigger than Mayday ("Vappu"). When I was small, maybe 5 or 6 years old, I was with my mom in Helsinki, accidentally the same day when The night of Arts was taking place, and things on the streets looked so cool... After I got from the army 16:00, I started heading to Angelan, she's my really good friend, I originally met in Second Life over year ago, and since I came to Helsinki because of army, in March, we have been hanging out a lot in RL too, so she has became really good RL friend also. Since Angelan is a cook, she had gotten a lot food from some of her workplace, and promised to cook me a good meal.... :D When I got to Angelan's place, her friend Jarcca (one Finnish fur from #turri channel) had invited her to Espoo, to meet his friend Mikko, who had came to Espoo from Valkeakoski, place near Tampere... so after having a quick dinner, we hurried to Espoo, to a bar... and spent there about 3 hours, instead exploring Night of the Arts in Helsinki. Angelan said to Mikko that he can come to stay a night at her place, cause Mikko was about to leave so he would make it to the train to Tampere... and so we left from Espoo back to Helsinki by train, and it was already pretty late, and most of the party feeling had gone and Night of the Arts was ending, first we went to DanceClub/Bar called Fever, in Kamppi, and it was a bit boring there, and neither Angelan or Mikko wanted to dance :P After that we headed to DTM (Don't Tell Mama - Finland's most popular gayclub). Since Mikko was straight, he was quite horrified after we got there, and he wanted to stay right beside me or Angelan, saying "just make sure you wont lose me here". There was one guy who tried to poke me, from Inkoo.. he came to shake my hand, even though I was dancing with Angelan. A bit before DTM was about to close, 4 AM, we headed to Angelan's home, and I slept in Angelan's bed with Mikko, and Angelan slept in her mom's room. Next morning Mikko left back to Tampere before Angelan woke up... I apologized him if last night was too traumatic for him, and he said it sure was, and he'll never get over it. So it was Saturday, and I had promised to go to movies with one sergeant from Vantaa, Topelius... he seemed really nice person, and I had agreed to go to movies with him saturday evening... Before afternoon Angelan got this idea that she goes to Vantaa to pick up mushrooms. She asked me with, and allthough I didn't think it was a good idea nor sounded fun, I agreed to go with her cause I never been to Vantaa, and I didn't have anything else to do on the saturday afternoon. We missed the bus, so we walked somewhere through Munkkivuori, and Angelan made me fear I can't go to movies with Topelius, saying the busses leave every hour, and so I had to postpone meeting Topielius... luckily he didn't mind. So we went to Vantaa's Vestend by bus, and crawled in the forests, and Angelan showed me the place where they had had their summer cottage - there was a guy on the same landlot building a nice deluxe loghouse there, and Angelan had a chat with him... and after that we went to forest at highway's other side, and Angelan picked up more shrooms. When we got to Helsinki by train from Vantaa's Martinlaakso. In the train I sent sms to Eino (Eino Etchegaray, one of my good SecondLife friends who became RL friend too...) asking if I could spend the night at his place, he said yeah. So I didn't have to worry, about where to go, after the movie. So when we got back to Helsinki I was kind of sweaty, after wandering in the forests with my green camouflage uniform... not really a perfect setup for meeting oneone and going to movies. Angelan decided we're go to buy me some deodorant, toothbrush, toothpaste, tic-tacs.. to make me give better impression to that sergeant (Topelius) :D - So we went to a "corner store" - style shop, Alepa, under the Central Railway station, and I bought myself those... and then we walked to Kamppi, and I went to Cafe Java in Lasipalatsi... while Angelan was buying me a takeway coffee, I went to Café's upstrairs to mensroom, and brushed my teeth and put some "Axe Dark Temptation" chocolate deodorant >_> When I was in front of Tennispalatsi in Kamppi (the cinema where I was supposed to meet Topelius), I sent him sms that I'm there now, and he was already in there... We decided to see movie "Zohan", of a comedy movie of superhero guy who wants to become a haridresser and pretends to die, and goes to work in crappy hairsaloon in new yourk and makes it popular by flattering to old ladies and humping them so that shelves fall down... it was one heck of a crazy movie. During the movie Eino sent me message that he got an urgent ocassion, and I can't go to his place after all, and said "go to Angelan's, she's hawt". I thought okay... Angelan had said I can go to her place as well, so no problemo. After the movie Topelius came to escort me to Central Rainway Station, where the busses leave, and I left with bus 18 to Angelan's place. In the bus I tried to contact Angelan, I sent her several sms messages, tried to call her... without success. When I got to Angelan's house, I kept calling her and sending messages... I even walked under her window and tried to shout her name. Eventually my phone's battery drained out. So I was all alone, without phone available, outside in Helsinki without no place to go. I started to get into small kind of panic. Nearby a bar called "Muusankrouvi" just closed, it was 2 AM o'clock. A gang of local young people, Angelan's neighbours came to hang out there. I noticed there was one guy in middle of them laying on his back on the ground, it looked a bit alarming, so I decided to approach them and ask if they perhaps needed some help, or should someone call an ambulance for that guy. It turned out he had just been drinking too much, and couldn't stay up nor couldn't walk because of that. The girls were quite curious what am I doing there all alone that time, where I'm from, and asked all kinds of stuff... one girl, Linda, eventually invited me to her place. I was unwilling to go with complete strangers, but after pondering my options, and after getting to know the girls a bit, I decided to go with the gang. I carried their passed out friend there, and Linda was having a housewarming party there... a moment later I was being offered alcohol drink, pizza, and had like 7 girls over me... the intrusive situation made me a bit nervous. In the party there was one cadet ("upseerikokelas"), Atte, from Upinniemi garrison. He knew my current undersergeant and superivisor, since he was from Upinniemi too. I talked some army stuff with him. Eventually her grilfriend Susu (who had also groped me earlier in addition to other girls!) suggested that I could go come spend the night at their place on the sofa. I had gotten some other nightplace suggestions from some of the girls, but this one sounded the safest choice - especially since she was already taken and her bf Atte would be there too ;P So after some persuation I agreed to go their place, also one girl called Vilma and her brother came there. When we got to Atte's and Susu's apartent (it was somewhere in Munkkivuori), Atte started to offer strong alcohol shots, jaegermeister, and "jaloviina"... I didn't want to question their hospitability, so I drank everything down as well. Susu said I can take shower if I want, so I did... after the shower she gave me clean tovel and even clean clothes, which were her boyfriend's o.o When we were about to go asleep, sometime after 5 AM, I had a conversation with VIlma, she was sleeping next to me on the floor (I got the cough). She asked me how I ended up there, and then we asked me "How can you be so calm!? If I were you I would be so mad at the girl who did this to you", she even offered to come escort me back to Angelan's place and say a few words to her, for my sake if I'm too nice I can't do that. She told earlier also that she had broken up with the guy I carried over to Linda's place, same day... geez. So next morning I woke up in apartment of unknown people, with someone else's clothes on, without knowing where I exactly am -_- Vilma came to guide me to place where Angelan lived, asked me if I'm sure I don't want her to wait Angelan with me. I had to wait Angelan almost 2 hours there... eventually she came and we went in, her mom was home. I had never met her mom before... and she told me she had said her mom that I'm gay (dunno if that's true... but yeah). It was rather wierd situation when I met her mom. She was like "Oh, you're leaving already? It's nice Angelan has a... a... umm... a buddy like you, someone she be... umm.. spending time with, so she doesn't have to be so much alone", and then I shaked hands with her and we talked about my education and stuff. Anyway - I couldn't stay the night there. Angelan and her mom had agreement they wont bring males for a night, unless either is not home. Again I had nowhere to go, I asked place from Eino, but he said he has lady to take care of... and I also called my friend Rufus, and he said it's a bad time... also one of my friend Eetu was in the Theatre with someone. Topelis happened to be on msn (the sergeant I had gone to movies day before), he asked me what I'm up to, and I told him I'm strying to find a place to spend a night... His place was the last place I wanted to go though, going to person's home who asked you to movies... felt kind of iffy, though he offered me an option to go to his place, saying "kaveria ei jätetä" (never leave a friend into problem), he had actually said that to me on msn yesterday too, when I was tryint to contact angelan desperately, before my battery ran out >_< So, I decided to go to his place, to Vantaa, Korso. It was really hard to see busstop names when it was dark outside, and the bus drove fast by the stops. So he said he'll come to wait to the busstop and he calls me when he sees the bus, and calls me, so I know when I need to jump off from the bus :) His dad was watching TV on the livingroom sofa. I went to shake hands with him and said "Hi, I'm Topelius's friend", and then went to his room. Then I went to take a shower downstairs, and after that we watched movie "Dude! Where's my car"?... he had over 500 DVD boxes on the shelves and 50" LCD TV. In the middle of the night he asked me "are you nervous"... I said "no", though I kind of was. Nothing happened, I was just wondering if he had some expectations... We woke up 7:30, he had to go to school, it was his first day... we walked to Korso Railway Station, and he jumped off from Pasila and I came to Central Railway Station. I still had the monday off, so I had nothing to do. I went to sit into Robert's coffee, and called my mom, I asked mom if I could go to visit my grandad (dad's dad... last time I visited him in March). Mom tried to call him, but he didn't answer, then I asked what about Grandad's ex-wife Kerttu. When I was litle we used to visit them often, and she was line one of the grandmoms to me, though she's not biological. I went then there to Mellunmäki. In the evening I was hanging around in metro lobby, under Central Railway Station, and Topelius was on msn. He said to me that he would have wanted to ask me to come sleep next to him, and said that I'm handsome :) |

| Transferring files from XP laptop to Vista laptop |
[Dec. 13th, 2007|06:51 pm] |

| Something wierd about dreams |
[Jul. 8th, 2007|02:36 pm] |
| [ | Current Mood |
| | bored | ] | Today mom brought me big pile of magazines she had borrowed from the library. One of them had in interesting article about dreams, and how you can learn to control them. I remembered some of my friends had been telling me about their dreams, which they were able to control, e.g. they were able to walk inside the dreams they saw etc. The article had some quite dubious references to occultism and alike, which I'm not sure what to think about them, but nevertheless I found it quite interesting.
Here's a small summary what it said about learning to control your dreams:
You should repeat to yourself "This is just a dream" several times per day, or rather "I am present, I exist" when you are awake. Eventually your subconsciousness learns to repeat that even while you are sleeping and seeing a dream. When you realize inside a dream, that you are seeing a dream, your cognitional thinking will be able to function inside the dream dimension you are, and you will be able to take control the dream. Article also said that you should also try to learn paying attention to small details in your real life, trying to memorize for example a view you see, instead memorizing only things that you find important in your daily chores. That way your mind will learn to memorize things from your dreams better. When you reach consciousness during the dream, realizing that you are inside a dream, you will be able to walk around and explore things and ask questions from "the dream", or the characters/people inside the dream. If you see person in a dream that you also know in real-life, you can ask them anything you wouldn't otherwise be able to ask, and their responses will be genuine because your consciousness can access their mind through the universal knowledge.
I don't know if it makes any sense, but it would be indeed interesting to see a dream where you could actually decide yourself where to go and what to do :P |

| Poem... |
[Jun. 20th, 2007|01:43 am] |
These words came into my mind while I was in shower today. Perhaps they wont make any sense at all, but I felt like putting them here.
He grabbed me as a rope that would pull him from the dark pit that he was falling into up to the daylight, where the sun's shining and skies are clear
I was not strong enough to pull him up, I was too weak He decided to let go off me
I hope he found another, stronger rope, to pull him from the pit he is falling into
I look up and hope that I will find... my own rope someday
Maybe I shouldn't have written this here... but on the other hand I don't think anyone reads my LiveJournal. I don't know if this even counts as poetry. |

[Feb. 20th, 2007|01:48 am] |
I know I haven't written to my LJ for very long time. I don't even think anybody reads this, except perhaps Kevin occasionally. Anyway I decided to write here one funny thing that I overheard today in local supermarket.
Two saleswomen talking behind the counter, it went something like this:
clerk1: hey, someone just called. It was about Counter Strike! clerk2: oh no... don't tell me clerk1: He wants to return Counter Strike, and the serial number has been taken into use clerk2: what shall we do? clerk1: let's call general manager *after minute of two* clerk1: he told us to solve this ourselves clerk2: *sigh*
I walked away and couldn't help smiling to their conversation. My mom and her boyfriend had gotten a replacement coffeepot for free, since the one that was in the coffee maker me and my sister bought as christmas present, went broken. They were ready to leave and wondered what has gotten into me when they saw me walking away ;P |

| Windows XP Service Pack 2 sucks |
[Dec. 21st, 2005|01:54 pm] |
| [ | Current Mood |
| | frustrated | ] | argh! >_<
I totally screwed up fixing one PC today. The guy who owned the PC brought it to my place for me to fix it. The PC's owner was watching all the time, and he asked "Those little white balloons popping up every now and then are a bit annoying, I wonder if it's safe to install those? My friend told me they're nothing but trouble. But in TV they told everyone should install them."... Well, I told him they're useful for most of users, and improve security.
Well, the automatic update was suggesting to install Service Pack 2, critical security update... The guy was quite a newbie with computers, and his PC had at least 10 different malware infections. And for some reason his antivirus and firewall applications were disabled and were in unoperateable state, most likely some malware was behind this.
I thought it might be good idea to install SP2 on his PC, it would fix some XP's worst flaws, and install additional firewall, and would stop showing him those annoying pop-ups caused by automatic update, at least for a while. He had Firefox on his PC, but from what I can tell looking into history, he's using mostly IE, so SP2 would also patch IE's worst leaks.
Well, I allowed automatic updates to install SP2 (it was already downloaded on the PC, he just had kept avoiding installing it, being scared it might screw up his PC). The install started, quite slowly, first "Preparing installation"; creating inventory of files, then creating backup of files, and then checking system state... and then "performing installation", it took over hour, then "Finishing installation"; deleting temporary files, took another hour, it took total 2 hours 25 minutes >_<. I didn't realize installing SP2 would be so slow, and the worst thing was that the owner was quite nervous "does it usually take that long?", "I guess my friends were right, those balloons are nothing but a trouble"... and after SP2 was installed his PC was slower than before, booting took longer, and logging in etc. I'm sure he wont ever ask my help again :(
Just a hint: Never install SP2 over existing installation, integrating it to install cd works a lot better and results faster system. |

| My first LiveJournal entry |
[Oct. 31st, 2005|11:23 pm] |
Hi!
This is my first blog entry, yay! :D I decided to register myself a LiveJournal account cause some of my friends use it too, and it can't be that bad if they use it :) And now I can start reading their "Friends Only" LiveJournals...
LiveJournal seem to be the most popular blogging community on the internet, in addition to Google's blogger.com, but LiveJournal seem to have a bit different approach by forming communities and uniting people who have same interests, unlike blogger where the point is just "getting a blog". |
